If you are looking for one of the highest-quality landscaping services in the Chicagoland area, turn to the experts at RGL Landscaping. Since 2010, our satisfied customers have trusted us to care for their commercial and residential properties,

The reasons that people turn to us for help with their landscaping projects are wide-ranging. Some are simply hoping to improve the appearance of their home, and others want to make sure that it retains (or increases) its value. Others may be seeking ways to save water or reduce heating and cooling costs. Landscaping services can also help improve any outdoor space.

Homeowners and businesses alike have landscaping needs, and it is often best to have these tasks handled by professionals. People who attempt to perform their own landscaping frequently do so without proper planning or the right tools for the job.

RGL Landscaping often take on very elaborate landscaping projects that can ultimately end up costing far more than they should have. Nonprofessionals frequently face the consequences of neglecting to consider erosion issues and failing to install proper irrigation systems, and trees, shrubs, or other plants are often placed too close to walkways, swimming pools, or other populated areas.

Designing a landscape plan that fits your property requires putting a plan onto paper. RGL Landscaping can perform a property survey and produce a topographical map that can be used to create renderings of your intended landscape.

Landscape designs can vary depending on personal preference. Whether you want to incorporate more indoor elements into your outdoor areas, install a fire pit, or expand your gardens, RGL Landscaping will help you achieve your vision.

In all cases, you will want to work with a professional to ensure you are using the right kinds of plants and grass for your yard. The rule of thumb is to use at least three flowering species in each bloom period to ensure a continuous food supply.

 INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE & Renewal

RGL Landscaping provides a full range of landscape maintenance and renewal services, such as:

  • Turf Maintenance — Some residential and commercial lawns in the Chicagoland area use turf, which is economical and can be more attractive while providing environmental protection. Irrigation levels need to meet the needs of actively growing turf to prevent issues caused by adverse weather or pests, and weed control is also important for upkeep. Trimming, fertilization, and aeration is also important, and insect and disease control efforts are also occasionally needed.

  • Turf Core Aeration — Aeration removes plugs of grass and soil so the necessary air, water, and nutrients can reach plant roots. A machine called an aerator perforates the lawn and pulls up plugs of turf, which are left on the lawn to decompose. Aeration is recommended on an annual basis.

  • Turf De-thatching — Thatch is the layer of leaves, stems, and grass clippings between the roots below the soil and the grass above it. Thick layers of thatch can prevent air, water, and nutrients from reaching the roots of the grass, and de-thatching uncovers this layer so it can be removed from the lawn.

  • Spring and Fall Cleanups — In the spring, cleanup may involve aeration, mowing the lawn, pruning and trimming trees and shrubs, and cleaning gardens. In the fall, services could include raking leaves, weed control, applying fertilizer, and cleaning up branches or other debris.

  • Leaf Cleanup and Removal — Raking the lawn can be an exhausting chore, especially for home and business owners with large properties, so relying on professionals with the proper equipment to accomplish the job will save you the time and hassle. We can use a powerful vacuum to remove even the smallest leaf fragments lodged deep into blades of grass from your property

  • Plant and Mulch Bed Maintenance — Some landscapes involve more maintenance than others. Plant and mulch bed maintenance is important for avoiding weeds, wilted plants, and compacted soil.

  • Fertilization and Weed Control Services — A lawn care professional can determine a weed prevention and fertilization plan and schedule that would work best for your lawn. RGL Landscaping can also identify any problem weeds during fertilization and take appropriate corrective measures.

  • Grub control — A grub is the larva of an insect, usually a beetle. These slug-like creatures can cause thousands of dollars in lawn damage when they become widespread. Not only do they damage to the root system of a lawn, but they also prevent plants from getting proper nutrients. Proper grub control can prevent damage to your lawn for six months.

  • Tree and Shrub Trimming and Maintenance — Trees and shrubs can be some of the more difficult features for homeowners to maintain, especially when trees have grown to large heights. Proper trimming is always important to basic landscape needs.

  • Plant, Flower, and Mulch Installations — Whether you are hoping to install flowers, plants, or mulch in a garden or outdoor space, you will want to seek professional landscaping services to ensure it is done right.

Landscape maintenance and renewal can be used to correct uneven surfaces in your yard, overgrown evergreens, and plants and trees that cover windows. Daybreaker Landscapes helps homeowners and businesses all over the Chicagoland area with these issues.

We will carefully consider your favorite features when refreshing your property, bringing back the visual appeal of your yard without completely having to redo it.

Lawn care

banner-organic-lawn-care-2.jpg

Many homeowners have understandable concerns about toxic chemical lawn fertilization. We will provide you with complete information about all products we use. Unlike lawns serviced with chemicals, you will not have to stay off your lawn after it is organically treated.

While there are concerns about weeds with organic lawn care, RGL Landscaping can use several nontoxic solutions. We can improve your soil, plant locally adapted grass, and use iron-rich foliar treatments to reduce possible weeds.

Soil health is critical to organic lawn care, as healthy soil feeds the plants as part of the ecosystem. We can also help you include a healthy variety of plant life, making sure those plants are right for the conditions.

Organic lawn care generally means no synthetic fertilizers, genetically engineered organisms, or synthetic pesticides, including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. We may use microbial pesticides, botanical pesticides, insecticidal soaps, or mined products, such as petroleum-based horticultural oil, potassium bicarbonate, or diatomaceous earth.

 sodding

banner-sodding.jpg

Sodding is commonly referred to as “instant lawn” because, unlike seeding, it will instantly transform the appearance of a property, though it can take up to 90 days for the sod to fully thicken into turf. Seeds can take up to two weeks to germinate.

Sodding is often used to replace a lawn, and it has several advantages for property owners. First, sod requires much less irrigation; it only needs to be watered twice a day during the first few weeks.

Another advantage of sod is that you do not have to worry about soil erosion issues. When it is installed, the sod is already mature and will control erosion.

Finally, sod makes for denser lawn. Bare patches won’t be a concern, and you’ll reduce extra work for yourself.

Sodding has a dramatic impact on the appearance of a property and the value of a home. Seeding is less costly, but it also takes much longer to get the desired results, as timing can be critical, and weeds are often an issue.
